Lightning.
The blade is stainless Damascus steel engraved with lightning, inlayed with 24k gold and has a 950 silver thumb opener and is 6.5cm long.
The handle is mosaic Damascus heat coloured engraved and inlaid with 24k gold and mammoth ivory with 24k gold lacquer and is 8cm long.
The pocket clip is made of anodized titanium and the lightning pattern was priced-out with a very fine saw.
The locking liners are made of anodized Titanium.
The back bar is engraved and file worked with a lightning design.
The total opened length is 14.3cm.

I loved the framing of this shot, with the busy checkpoint behind the sign. Pity the Homeland Insecurity Agent wasnt as thrilled at me taking pictures of the checkpoint. He shut me down right quick as soon as I started taking pictures and shooed me away.
Thing is, if I was a terrorist, I sure as hell wouldnt stand there with a honkin' big DSLR with a massive lens looking obivous as the day is long. I'd be standing there "talking" on my c-phone, snapping pics all subtle like with it held up to my ear.
Ah well - more Security Theater at work. At least he let me keep my pictures and didnt subject me to the cavity search.

yeah yeah, no one likes snapshots of cats, and this particular one looks like hell because of the light switch and harsh flash. regardless, this is the very first frame from the new 20D and also the first decent picture of this girl, because she is shy.

This was my camera after Burning Man 2009. It saw hard use, taking nearly 3,000 photos over the eight days I spent in the desert. (Here's my Burning Man gallery)
Nothing is exaggerated here: that's just how it looks.
Did I protect it? No. I kept it in its bag when not in use. It's fine and works like a champ.
The lenses and camera have not been cleaned since the burn; I've kind of blown off the sensor a little, but otherwise it's untouched and A-OK.
If you think your camera needs protection out there, you A) need a better camera or B) didn't use yours enough, and either way you didn't take enough photos.
This camera has shot approximately 72,000 photos, and taken at least two ~4' drops to concrete. This was its second Burning Man (as it came out (and was subsequently purchased by me) September 2007).

In the middle of the North Visitor's Center on a circular display are a number of translations to the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon was first published in 1830.
Now almost 180 years later, there are translations of this book in over 80 languages.
See the Navajo, Persian, and Cakchiquel (Kachiquel) translations.

My first Blurb book came today and none of the concerns I had were founded. The printing and binding look great.

At age 4, Anavey loves the camera but has that sense of fun and liveliness only four year old girl has. Sweet childhood moment, courtesy my friend jcvigi. He shot these three photos in a row I've uploaded tonight. I got the originals and edited them as I wished. Such pleasure to edit pretty photos of my pretty girls.

Yesterday I took a walk revisiting some spots I long had in mind to have a go at snapping 'm up. The weather was positively lovely.
Initially I considered making it some kind of consistent series, like places that will be no more in a couple of years, abandoned corners. That doesn't work for me though. In the end I just walked around, I did however take pictures of various spots not normally traversed by a lot of people.
