Whenever you see a photograph that clusters the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the US Capitol in a single frame, it was most likely shot from Arlington, Virginia, at the Netherland's Carillon, next to the Iwo Jima Memorial. You can use a lot of different lenses to get interesting shots, but many of them use a telephoto to get in close.

The Netherlands Carillon (49 bells) is adjacent to Arlington Cemetery and right next to the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial. It was a gift to the United States from the people of the Netherlands in 1954. It was a "Thank You" present after the U.S. helped the Netherlands during and after WWII.

It overlooks a field of tulips, and this view.

According to Wikipedia, the Netherlands Carillon bells play "Westminster Chimes" on the hour and plays American patriotic music twice daily. Special songs are played on May 5 (Dutch Liberation Day), July 4 (U.S. Independence Day), September 2 (V-J Day), and Thanksgiving Day.

To get there, just got to: Arlington Boulevard and Meade Street, Arlington, VA 22209

there are some new changes coming soon with my website! (& blog) I'm almost done editing my last wedding of the year and that means I now can focus on renewing some parts of my photography practise.

This is Anglesey abby in cambridge - the colour on this image is intense, which is a shame. Also the full size image is better but you know at least I've stuck to my own boundaries I set at the start of this 52

please check this out large by pressing "L"
