Here's another of the "contrasting lifestyles" images I took while in India a couple of years ago. The contrast between the poverty of the construction workers, living in tents and tin huts on the site, and the wealth of the workers in the huge office blocks they were building was striking and shocking to me.

This is a Pioneer Village that is Located in North York, Toronto.
The following is a short excerpt from a web site and two sites that describe the village.

Black Creek Villiage

Black Creek-1 Village

A visit to Black Creek Pioneer Village is a step back in time to 19th-century Ontario. Forty authentically restored homes, workshops, public buildings and farms recreate the atmosphere of life in a rural Victorian community of the 1860s. Craftspeople and workers wearing period costumes demonstrate skills such as open-hearth cooking, bread-making, looming, milling, blacksmithing, sewing, printing and more.

Walk through the village and into the homes and buildings, visit the inn, and stroll through farms and forests. The Hands on History Centre lets kids try their hand at traditional trades and pioneer survival skills like building a log cabin or weaving cloth. During the holiday season in November and December, the village offers many special events to celebrate Christmas as it was 130 years ago.

The brand new Event Pavilion will open the doors to a host of possibilities for Black Creek Pioneer Village. The covered pavilion includes a stage, seating for up to 300 people and a snack bar. Last year it was home to the Métis Arts Festival and the Celtic Sounds Festival.

Klamath Falls Mountain Bike Trails - 911

Ringo posing atop the highest point of a very steep trail called 911. There is a crucifix here, that appears to have been vandalized and repaired, and the ziplock bag seen in some of the photos contains some xeroxed notes and a copy of the New Testament and Psalms (I looked).

Klamath Falls has some very nice mountain bike trails. I have been riding them since 1988 when I bought my first mountain bike. Most of the trails in these photos are on public land but most of the trails are on private property and the mountain bikers have had full access for two decades.

Regrettably many of the trails are now the sites of land development, including some gated communities. Every time I ride or trail run up here, which is nearly every day, I see some new development. I am not complaining - it has been private land all these years and I am glad for the many years of terrific riding we have had. Who wouldn't want to live here? It is a wonderful place.

The Audi R8 is a sports car with a longitudinally mounted mid-engine, and uses Audi's 'trademark' quattro permanent four-wheel drive system. It was introduced by the German automaker Audi AG in 2006. The car was exclusively designed, developed, and manufactured by Audi AG's high performance private subsidiary company, quattro GmbH, and is derived from the Lamborghini Gallardo. The fundamental construction of the R8 is based on the "Audi Space Frame", and uses an aluminium monocoque which is built around a space frame. The car is built by quattro GmbH in a newly renovated factory at Audi's 'aluminium site' at Neckarsulm in Germany.

In 2005, Audi announced that the name of the successful Audi R8 race car would be used for a new road car in 2007, the Audi R8, based on the Audi Le Mans quattro concept car, appearing at the 2003 International Geneva Motor Show, and 2003 Frankfurt International Motor Show. The R8 road car was officially launched at the Paris Auto Show on 30 September 2006. There was some confusion with the name, which the car shares with the 24 Hours of Le Mans winning R8 Le Mans Prototype (LMP), and also the 1989 Mk2 Rover 200, codenamed R8.
