PLEASE, no multi invitations, glitters or self promotion in your comments. My photos are FREE for anyone to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know. Thanks

Erected in 1858, Cap-des-Rosiers Lighthouse is one of the tall beacons built by the Canadian Coast Guard in Québec. Canada’s tallest lighthouse, it soars 34.1 metres (112 feet) into the air. With white marble walls over 2.1 metres (7 feet) thick at the base and tapering to 0.9 metres (3 feet) at the top of the tower, it stands on a foundation rooted 2.4 metres (8 feet) deep in the soil. Its powerful light, perched 41.4 metres (136 feet) above the sea, has guided ships without fail since the lighthouse was built.

The site has been developed to enhance this magnificent structure, which was declared a national historic site in 1977 by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.

The Bamboo Forest and some great Twitter Lists to follow

Today's daily photo was taken while exploring the wilds outside of Kyoto a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful place! The walk took me into this giant bamboo forest. After strolling through it for a short eternity, I set up for a shot. This is a standard 5-exposure HDR; it was shot with a 14-24mm lens. For those of you new to the site, you can find out more about my process in the HDR Tutorial.
